SNOHOMISH, WA—The Snohomish County FC Steelheads (1-1) played head-to-head with annual Western Indoor Soccer League (WISL) powerhouse Tacoma Stars Reserves (3-0) for three quarters on Sunday November 28 at the Snohomish Sports Dome. The final quarter was a different story as a 3-3 tie evolved into an eventual 7-3 loss for the Fish. SnoCo FC find themselves third in the table after two matches played.
The Stars Reserves jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on a goal by Ismael Deluna just 37 seconds into the game, but Glenn Paden answered two minutes later to tie the game at 1-1. Tacoma retook the lead on Nate Ford’s first goal of the game on an assist by Deluna with three minutes left in the first quarter.
Snohomish equalized with 5:55 left in the second quarter on a goal by Jordan Correa and took the lead 3-2 on Devin Shull’s goal with 4:17 left in the half. But just before halftime, Daniel Gray leveled the game for the Stars Reserves and the two teams went to the break knotted up at 3-3.
After an even and hard fought third quarter, the score still stood at 3-3, but from there, it was all Tacoma. Adrian Correa scored what proved to the game winner at the 12:42 mark and Prado-Huerta scored an insurance PK two minutes later to make it 5-3. Ford and Prado-Huerta each completed their braces with goals down the stretch and the Stars Reserves remained unbeaten with a 7-3 win.
